In addition to judging the monthly Breathing London competition, landscape and wildlife photographer Robert Canis will be leading workshops during the course of the project to inspire Breathing Londoners. This third workshop will has been timed to coincide with Autumn and hopefully some lovely autumn colours.

Today we will visit Waterlow Park.  Waterlow Park is a 26-acre green space bordering Highgate Cemetery and is one of London’s hidden gems.  Hilly by nature, the shape of the terrain lends itself to photography along its winding paths.  Surrounded by trees and other similar vegetation, its three ponds make it a haven for wildlife.  It has many large specimen trees, flower beds, well-kept open areas as well as wild places and views over to the City of London.

For anyone wishing to extend their day, there are lots of opportunities to continue to Highgate Cemetery and or Highgate Woods and Hampstead Heath.

We will meet at 10.45 at St Joseph’s Church Gate on Highgate Hill.  The easiest way to get here is to take the tube to Archway and walk up the Hill, admiring the statue to Dick Whittington’s cat on the way.  (If anyone feels that they do not wish to walk up the hill, they can take a bus for one or two stops).  We will finish with lunch in a local café, for those who would like to stay.

The fee for this workshop is £20 for RPS members, £25 for Non-RPS Members.   To book and pay, please follow the link to the RPS Events page here

My photographic interests are pretty wide ranging: basically I like to capture what is going on around me, so, I would describe myself as a travel, documentary and street/urban photographer. I was awarded my LRPS in 2015. Oh yes, and I love everything about horses!!
